In a 1999 interview to NDTV, Jayalalithaa or 'Amma' as revered by millions of her supporters, spoke of her dream to be able to quit politics one day and live at her farm, surrounded only with her books, music and her pets. One of the most powerful political leaders in the country, Jayalalithaa had wished for a day when she does not have to attend phone calls, meet people or give speeches, and live away from the madding world.
