One person was killed and around 150 huts were gutted in a major slum fire in north Kolkata's Dum Dum Park area on Saturday evening. "A 42-year-old man died in the blaze, which gutted around 150 shanties. There are no reports of any major injuries as yet. We have cordoned off the area and fire brigade personnel are working. The fire has now been controlled," said Shivani Tewari, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate.
