The Bharatiya Janata Party's victory lap continued into the second day. After claiming a landslide win in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, the party has delivered an upset to the Congress in two states the latter thought it had in its bag. Smaller parties pledged support to the BJP in Goa, paving the way for Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to return as Chief Minister. In Manipur too the party staked claim to form a government, outwitting the Congress.
