Nearly 230 million Indians go hungry every day. 21 per cent of us are undernourished, 45 per cent of our children under five-years-old are underweight and seven per cent don't live to see their fifth birthday. Even as we step into our 63rd year of being a Republic, despite our global positioning, we remain a Republic of Hunger.
