Ajmal Kasab's execution: Why such secrecy?

Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist caught alive during the 26/11 attacks was hanged today. His execution was handled in such secrecy that even the country's top leadership did not know about it, according to Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. He said that the high level of secrecy was required so that petitions in courts and human rights activists could be "avoided".
