Kashmir-born Dr Anil Koul is part of the global team of scientists at Belgium-based drug manufacturer Janssen that developed Bedaquiline. The government introduced the drug in the in the TB control programme yesterday hoping it will change its status as the country which reports the largest number of deaths – 200,000 every year.
