There has been some concern about how the monsoon will do this year especially because it arrived late and has behaved erratically with the current deficit standing at 24 per cent. In its latest update the India Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will be normal this year. Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Science, Technology and Earth Sciences, in an exclusive interview to NDTV's Science Editor Pallava Bagla, said there is concern only about how the monsoon will perform in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Marathwada.
