Bhopal gas tragedy is one of the worst industrial disasters, which claimed thousands of lives. Despite that, GAIL has awarded a contract to a subsidiary of a Dow Chemicals and Exxon Mobile joint venture. Expansion work at GAIL's mother plant at Pata in Uttar Pradesh is now being carried out.
