Kaushik Basu, chief economist at the World Bank and a former Chief Economic Advisor to the Indian Government, told NDTV that while fiscal discipline is important we must not make an obsession of that. In a situation of weak global growth, you may need to give a little bit of extra stimulus to get India growing, he added.
