Explaining Q3 results, UK Basu, MD of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd (MRPL) said in the third quarter there was no shutdown and higher refining margin helped the company post 21 per cent jump in net profit. MRPL earned $6 on turning every barrel of crude oil into product in the third quarter as compared to a gross refining margin of $4.55 per barrel.
