At a time when the government is bragging out an ambitious solar power project and the success of the LPG Give It Up Campaign, families in rural India are far from getting the benefits of either. The biggest source of air pollution in rural idea comes from a simple daily activity - cooking on mud stoves by burning wood or cow dung. The chulla trap is an issue that needs to be addressed on a war footing, given that less than 13 percent of rural India has access to clean fuel like the LPG.
