Women and child development Minister Maneka Gandhi is the target of a major social media campaign by disabled rights activists over her views about the proposed disability bill. Quoted by PTI, the minister said the bill does not differentiate between mentally ill and mentally disabled person and if a person is mentally ill like Schizophrenic, how can he be given a job? The minister later clarified tweeting that she never commented that persons with mental illness cannot be given jobs in government and it has been clearly misinterpreted by PTI.
