More than 90 per cent of the people support the move to ban old 500 and 1,000 rupee notes to curb black money and corruption, a survey on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's smartphone app has reported. Fielding questions from students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman defended the survey and the policy. "If you don't want to believe in survey, don't. Just go out and speak to people. They are happy," said Ms Sitharaman.
