Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a unique direction for his lawmakers today. He wanted them to submit details of all bank transactions done by them from the day Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were banned and December 31. BJP MPs and MLAs have been asked to submit these details to party president Amit Shah on January 1. While the BJP is calling it a move towards greater transparency, the opposition is calling it a farce, a gimmick.
