Lt Col Purohit Gets Bail: Politics Holding Up Justice?

Accused in the 2008 malegaon blasts case, Lt Col Purohit was granted bail today by the Supreme Court after eight years and eight months. Though charges are yet to be framed, he is likely to walk out of jail tomorrow. The Congress has however accused the government of protecting the accused in terror cases related to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS, the ideological mentor of the ruling BJP. The court has also highlighted contradictions in Probe by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
