For the Bhils - the second largest tribal community in India - art is integral. Distinguished by the dots which are used to draw figures and objects, Bhil paintings mark events, store memories and fight despair. Bhil art is now accessible worldwide. Through an initiative by IIT Bombay called the Bhil Art Project. An animated short film produced by this venture 'Hum Chitra Banate Hai' will be screened at the ongoing Mumbai film festival. On Art Matters this week, we give you a glimpse of the allure of Bhil art.
