National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Wednesday said there is no charge for the bank account to bank account-based UPI payments or normal UPI payments. However, interchange charges are only applicable for the prepaid payment instruments (PPI) merchant transactions and there is no charge to customers, NPCI clarified in a statement.

Paytm has issued a clarification regarding UPI-related fees after the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) notified that merchant transactions of over Rs 2,000 done through the Unified Payments Interface will attract up to a 1.1% interchange fee.

The fee will not be applicable for person-to-person transactions or person-to-merchant transactions between a bank and the prepaid wallet.

From April 1, some Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions of over Rs 2,000 will attract an interchange fee of 1.1 per cent. But, this is for merchants only.

Binance is now offering its Binance Pay service in the US market.
