Assam government is committed to work for the economic and social security of the tea community, including the small tea growers as they constitute a sizeable human resource, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said.

To encourage small tea growers and give them better price for their products, the government has proposed to amend a 2003 order to define mini and micro factories and provide various benefits to them.
