Shiladitya Chowdhury, the farmer who was arrested for asking West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a question at a public meeting at Belpahari on 8 August, has been released on bail today.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee faced severe criticism from different quarters for arresting a farmer who questioned her publicly. Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju and the BJP have slammed her for her action.
