Breaking his silence, Chairman of IIT Bombay's Board of Governors Anil Kakodkar on Friday said he had resigned because he did not want to be part of the selection process of IIT directors which was "too casual" and like "running a lottery".

The faculty forum of IIT-Delhi has passed a resolution strongly backing its Director Raghunath Shevgaonkar in the wake of his resignation from the post a few days back citing some "unforeseen situations".
