The McDonald's where a homeless child was rudely asked to leave has been shut down indefinitely in Pune, said sources who work at the fast-food chain.

After reports emerged that an eight-year-old destitute child was thrown out of an outlet of McDonald's in Pune, the fast-food giant has suspended the security personnel allegedly involved in the incident.

A day after reports emerged that McDonald's threw out a destitute child from its Pune outlet, an NGO took 15 underprivileged children to the fast food chain's outlet in Kolkata today and treated them to burgers and fries.

McDonald's India is "internally" probing an incident of a destitute child who was reportedly thrown out of its Pune outlet, even as the restaurant management suspended the security personnel involved in the incident.

The state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has written a letter to the city police asking them to step up security around the Bandra bus depot, McDonald's restaurant in Andheri (West), the Jogeshwari flyover and Juhu beach. It is learnt that the men arrested for the August 1 Pune blasts planned to place bombs at these places between Navratri and Diwali.
