Narendra Modi, who has his own TV channel NAMO, appears to enjoy high ratings, with women among his most loyal viewers. The 24-hour channel, funded by the BJP, was launched to coincide with the state elections and is already being beamed into approximately two crore homes across Gujarat.

Launched under BJP's supervision and carrying Chief Minister Narendra Modi's initials, the new 'NaMo Gujarat' television channel today got the Election Commission's nod but with some riders in the election-bound state where model code of conduct is in force.

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi rarely comes on television for interviews and news shows. But he is clearly not TV-shy - he's getting himself a cable TV channel solely dedicated to himself. Even the name is a combination of his own: NaMo Gujarat.
