The lights of the Eiffel Tower are set to be turned off in support for the Coptic community of Egypt, where a bus carrying Coptic Christians was shot at by gunmen killing at least 28 persons and wounding more than 20 in Minya province.

Gunmen attacked a group of Coptic Christians travelling to a monastery in central Egypt on Friday, killing 28 people and wounding 24, with many children among the victims, Health Ministry officials said.

Gunmen shot dead two Egyptian policemen in a pre-dawn attack while they were on patrol Tuesday in the southern city of Minya, the interior ministry said.
