Tension prevailed in Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district of Kerala on Monday as a large number of Jacobite faction priests and followers prevented those belonging to the Orthodox faction from entering a church at Kochi to take its possession as per a Supreme Court order.

The Malankara Jacobite Syrian Church on Monday asked its bishop Kuriakose Mar Clemis to keep away from all duties and responsibilities as a bishop and formed an eight-member committee to inquire into the allegations that he has raised.
