Adnan Sami, of Pakistani descent, told a fan from the neighbouring country that Eid does not just belong to him, but to the entire Muslim community around the world. The singer, who received his certificate of Indian citizenship in 2016, also requested the fan to refrain from making celebrations into an "Indo-Pak subject".

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday tore into Pakistan's stance of "good terrorists and bad terrorists" saying the approach is "extremely shortsighted" and warned that those who try to block increasing Indo-Afghan trade will be blocked themselves.

India was for a "stable, strong and prosperous" Afghanistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Monday, adding that the two countries had decided to intensify cooperation, especially in the sectors of agriculture, small business and mining.

During the visit of Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai to India last month, the two countries signed strategic partnership agreement according to which India agreed to train, equip and build capacity for Afghan security forces, including the Army.
