Former Union Shipping Minister and senior DMK leader TR Baalu on Saturday courted a controversy by remarking that he will chop off the hand of anyone touching his party president, Chief Minister MK Stalin or Dravidar Kazhagam chief K Veeramani.

Dismissing reports that DMK was going soft on Congress-led UPA despite pulling out of it, party chief M Karunanidhi today ruled out even outside support to the ruling coalition on the ground that it failed to accept his party's demands on Sri Lankan Tamils issue.

DMK leader M K Stalin and thousands of party workers were arrested today when they attempted to picket the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commission in Chennai, demanding a probe against the island government over alleged war crimes.
