The West Bengal government today approached a local court in Kolkata, against payment of compensation to the Jadavpur University professor who was arrested for forwarding an email with a cartoon that allegedly lampooned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Delete cartoons against politicians and babus from NCERT textbooks: Review panel

A panel constituted by the government to review NCERT textbooks for Political and Social Science has recommended that cartoons that show politicians and bureaucrats in an "'incorrect way" be deleted.
