BS Yeddyurappa has not stepped out of his home since the results of the Karnataka elections were announced, remaining inaccessible to the media throughout the day. The fourth position on the result board was not something he was expecting.

The Congress seems to be emerging as the single-largest party in Karnataka. At 10:30 am, all leads were in and if these convert into results, the party might even edge past the halfway mark of 112 in the 224-seat Assembly.
