Cabinet clears key bills on Judicial Accountability, Citizen's Charter and black money

The Union Cabinet met today to clear several key legislations that are expected to be taken up in this session of Parliament. Sources tell NDTV that key bills - the Judicial Accountability, Citizen's Charter Bill,the Whistleblowers Bill, and Prevention of Money Laundering - have been cleared.

This is the bill that the government says will make the judiciary more accountable and will ensure that Judges do not have to come under the purview of the Lokpal. A Parliamentary Standing Committee has submitted its report on the Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill and suggested that judges do not make "unwarranted comments" in open court.
