Taxi, auto drivers' strike in Kerala from Nov 15

Thiruvananthapuram: The taxi and autorickshaw drivers in the state are slated to go on an indefinite strike from November 15 to demand a revision of fares, in view of the hike in petrol and diesel prices.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of office-bearers of trade unions of motor workers from all districts, a press release said today.

Representatives of all trade union organisations, including the CITU, AITUC, INTUC, HMS and BMS participated in the meeting.

A torch-lit procession would be taken out on November 14 in all districts to press for the demand. A secretariat march would also be held on November 15, the release said.
