Woman Befriends Mother at Telangana Station, Steals Her Child

Secunderabad railway police inspector Anjaneyulu told NDTV security camera footage showed the two women together for more than half an hour.

Secunderabad: A four-year-old girl was kidnapped by a woman who befriended her mother at a railway station in Telangana's Secunderabad, the police say.

The 23-year-old mother said she came to Secunderabad with her older daughter Durga on Thursday morning to meet her cousin, and on her way back, the alleged kidnapper struck up a conversation with her at the railway station.

The woman told Rani that she was travelling to Vijayawada. The two women went outside the station to have fruits.

When they were going back to the station, Rani walked ahead while the other woman held her child. A few minutes later, Rani realised that the woman had disappeared with her child.

Secunderabad railway police inspector Anjaneyulu told NDTV that security camera footage showed the two women together for more than half an hour.

The woman were also seen walking out of the station with the child and going to a bus station near the famous Secunderabad Ganesha temple.

They are now trying to locate the suspect, believed to be in her late twenties.

A resident of Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada, Rani said she had left her younger daughter at home after an argument with her husband.
