Salem,Tamil Nadu:
A 23-year-old engineering student allegedly committed suicide by consuming cyanide at a theatre in Salem, police said on Thursday.
The student, doing his final year at a private college in the district, had come here last night and bought a movie ticket for the night show.
After the show was over, theatre staff cleaning the theatre saw him still sitting in the seat and on examination, found him dead.
Police said he consumed the cyanide as a girl whom he was in love with did not reciprocate his overtures.
Police have removed the body to the government hospital in Salem for conducting post-mortem.
