Former DMK Minister Sarguna Pandian Dies At 75

DMK has called for a three-day mourning over Sarguna Pandian death.

Chennai: DMK's Deputy General Secretary Sarguna Pandian, 75, died this morning after brief illness.

The DMK has called for a three-day mourning and has cancelled all official engagements during the period.

A party old-timer and former minister, she was twice elected from the RK Nagar assembly constituency in Chennai.

In his statement after paying homage to Sarguna Pandian, DMK Treasurer MK Stalin said, "Ms Sarguna Pandian rose to the ranks  as a young orator."

During the recent assembly polls, her daughter-in-law Simla Muthocholan unsuccessfully fought against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa from RK Nagar constituency.
