Jeev improves to tied 32nd after Rd3 of Mercedes-Benz

Cologne: Jeev Milkha Singh finally broke par and turned in an improved four-under 68 in the third round to rise to the tied 32nd spot, but SSP Chowrasia languished at the bottom after carding a two-over 74 in the Mercedes-Benz golf Championship.

After rounds of 72 and 74, Jeev sank in as many as five birdies against a lone bogey to take his three-day aggregate to two-under 214 at the Golf Club Gut Larchenhof here.

Swede Hanson Peter blasted a five-under 67 to grab the lead with a total of 11-under 205. A stroke behind were English Dyson Simon (68), Dane Hansen Soren (70) and Kingston James of South Africa (70).

Jeev stumbled on a bogey in the first hole but he parred the rest to take the turn at one-over before going on a birdie spree on his back nine.

The Chandigarh-golfer picked up a stroke at the 13th hole and then birdied the last four holes to end the day on a high.

However, Chowrasia couldn't emulate Jeev and his card had three bogeys at second, fifth and 12th hole against a lone birdie at the 13th.
