Chetan to begin his Dutch defence against Russia's Malkov
New Delhi: India's No 1 shuttler Chetan Anand will like to put behind his disappointing show at the Commonwealth Games when he starts his title defence at the Dutch Open, in Almere on Wednesday.

Chetan, who lost to compatriot P Kashyap in the bronze-medal play off at the Commonwealth Games, will have to quickly get his act together when he opens campaign against Vladimir Malkov of Russia in the men's singles.

Ajay Jayaram, who recently won his second international title after emerging victorious in the Czech International tournament in Brno, will face Italian Manuel Batista in the opening round tomorrow.

Among others, 14th seed Anand Pawar will take on Belgium's Yuhan Tan, while Anup Sridhar will be up against eighth seed Dane Christian Lind Thomsen.

In women's singles, national champion Trupti Murgunde will lock horns with second seed German Juliane Schenk.
