President of YSR Congress YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched his 48-hour 'rythu deeksha' (hunger strike) over farmers' issues on Saturday.

Addressing a gathering of farmers and party workers on the occasion, the opposition leader from Andhra Pradesh said he supports the farmers in the state, as they were cheated by the ruling TDP that gave "false" promises.

"Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu had promised to waive loan for both farmers and DWACRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups though it was not feasible. But after coming to power in the state, Naidu has failed to fulfil his promises," the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly said.
