Erode:
Poonkodi Swaminathan, Member of the MDMK State Audit Committee, died after a tractor which he was driving, overturned near Erode, police said today.
The 64-year-old Swaminathan had gone to his farm house at Nagamalai, over 25 kilometres from Erode, yesterday and was operating the tractor used for ploughing the land.
When he did not return to the farm house, the tractor operator went in search of him and found Mr Swaminathan lying under an overturned tractor.
He was declared dead at the hospital, police said.
