The Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi has invited superstar Rajinikanth to be the ambassador of "Prosperous Puducherry" via twitter. The actor, who is currently shooting in the US, is yet to respond.
Governor Bedi tweeted, "I think it will a go a long way. He's a popular figure in Tamil Nadu. I believe he's overseas. I hope he responds, Puducherry could be the Paris of India".
Soon after taking over as Governor of the Union territory, Ms Bedi coined the tagline "Prosperous Puducherry" and started working closely with public, police and the bureaucracy. She banned use of red lights and insisted there should be no special privileges for VIPs.
However, the actor has been keeping away from politics.
The actor's much hyped film "Kabali" is all set for release on the 22nd.
