Thiruvananthapuram:
A software engineer from Haryana drowned and his colleague went missing in the Kallar river near Menmutty waterfall in the district, police said.
The two were part of a nine-member trainee group from TCS, Technopark, who had gone to the picnic spot yesterday, they said.
The deceased was identified as Mahesh Kumar (29) from Haryana. The missing person was Atul Yadav (24) from Rajasthan.
Meenmutty waterfall is a dangerous spot, where eight dental college students drowned in 1991. In 2006, four friends drowned while bathing there. Last year, a boy had died when he was on a picnic with his friends.
