Former MLA Sidharthan Kattungal dead

Thrissur: Congress leader and former MLA Sidharthan Kattungal died in Thrissur today following a heart attack, family sources said.

He was 68 and is survived by two children.

He had represented Nattika in the Kerala Assembly from 1982-87 and Irinjalakuda from l977 to 1980.

He had also served the president of the Cochin Devaswom Board in Thrissur.

Kerala Assembly speaker G Karthikeyan said in a condolence message that Kattungal was a good parliamentarian and an ideal politician worthy of emulation by the younger generation.

Minister for Cultural Affairs K C Joseph also expressed his deep sorrow in the death of Kattungal.
