Five killed after tipper collides with auto rickshaw

Karimnagar:  Five persons were killed and eight others seriously injured when a tipper collided with an auto rickshaw in Arnakonda village, police said today.

The incident took place last night under the Choppadandi police limits, 25 kms from Karimnagar. The auto driver and four passengers were killed in the mishap.

According to police, the driver of the tipper was under the influence of alcohol and has been arrested.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital at Karimnagar, where their condition is reported to be stable.

A case has been registered and investigation is on, police added.
