Namakkal, Tamil Nadu:
Eight persons, including six women, were killed and 15 injured when a van collided with a private bus at Rasipuram, 27 km from Namakkal today, police said.
The mishap occurred when the driver of the van lost control of the vehicle as one of the tyres burst.
The van was carrying employees of a garments firm.
Two bus passengers were among the deceased.
The injured have been hospitalised.
