92.89 Per Cent of Students Pass Class XII Exams in Chennai

Chennai: CBSE today announced the results of its All India Senior School Certificate Examination 2014 for Chennai region, with 92.89 per cent of the students passing the Class XII exams and girls outshining boys in performance.

The results are available on www.results.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.

The pass percentage of Chennai region, covering Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Daman and Diu saw a 1.06 per cent increase against last year's 91.83, D T Sudharsana Rao, Regional Officer, CBSE, said.

A total of 45,069 students appeared for the exams. While 94.6 per cent of the girls passed the exams, boys scored 91.96 per cent. All 130 students who appeared for the exams in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu passed, scoring a 100 per cent pass percentage, followed by Goa (99.53), Karnataka (97.75), Tamil Nadu (97.02), Puducherry (96.56), Maharashtra (93.51), Andhra Pradesh (92.47) and Andaman and Nicobar Islands (74.69).

"Candidates who wish to apply for verification/re-checking of marks and register for Compartmental Examination may visit Baord website for further details," Mr Rao added.
