23 Boys Rescued From an Unregistered Kerala Orphanage
Kollam, Kerala: 21 boys from Jharkhand and two from West Bengal have been rescued from an orphanage earlier this week on Kollam. The Orphanage Jamalayya Arabic College in Kollam was not a registered orphanage and been ordered to shut down.

The 'rescued' children are between the age group of 10-16, and will be sent back to their native places according to the Kollam District Collector

Police has filed a Case under JJ Act 2000 and is investigating various angles. Unlike May 24th case where over 500 children were rescued from Palakkad, in this case the role of 'agents and exchange of money' is yet to be established. The children were brought to the city by an Arabic teacher of the institution, belonging to Jharkhand itself. The institution heads have been arrested by the police.
