The training module would be created keeping in mind that police need to shoot videos of mobs
Pune's Prestigious Film and Television Institute of India has decided to offer a course in video shooting to the police, so that the law-enforcers can use the videography effectively to collect evidence, especially during riots.
"Since we have all the expertise in film and video shooting, we have decided to provide a short-term program to police departments of all the states, in which a professional guidance will be imparted to the cops on how to shoot the video effectively in riot-like situation," said the institute's director, Bhupendra Kainthola.
Soon the FTII will send communication in this regard to the DGPs of various states, he told Press Trust of India.
"According to my knowledge, FTII had imparted training to Jammu and Kashmir police in 2008 and similar program was organised for Pune police in 2011," he said.
The training module would be created keeping in mind that police need to shoot videos of unruly and violent mobs during tense situations, he said.
"Police personnels will be imparted training on how to keep the camera steady while capturing the video of riot-like situation effectively while moving or running," he said.
The course will be just five to six days long, he said
