Pune: A 22-year-old man in Pune, who escaped from police lock-up in August, was arrested on Monday after he was spotted with his bike that had the message 'Dare only for you' written on it to express his love for his second wife.

Rajesh Papul alias Chor Raja escaped from the lock-up of the Bund Garden police station on August 21. He was arrested along with five accomplices by the Crime Branch for planning to loot a petrol station on Shankarshet Road on the night of August 19.

In the lock-up, Raja had asked Constable S N Sawant to take him to the toilet. Leaving the suspect near the toilet, Sawant opened the gate of the lock-up. Seeing the gate open, Raja rushed towards the policeman, pushed him aside and ran out. Sawant and another constable gave chase, but Raja entered the nearby Zilla Parishad building, climbed a wall and disappeared in the direction of Somwar Peth.

Police Sub-Inspector Bharat Kindre from the Anti-Extortion Cell said, "Our informers spotted Raja in Katraj with his bike on which the message 'Dare only for you' was written. We laid a trap and nabbed Raja. We have recovered three motorcycles, a laptop and three mobile phones from him."
