SRK bats for university cricket

Filmstar Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the Toyota University Cricket Championship, an all-India T20 League launched by NDTV and the Ministry of HRD in Mumbai.

The actor is the face of the tournament starting February 2013.

Shah Rukh Khan dwelt upon the various aspects of sports, specifically cricket. He said that after having been an actor for over 20 years, he had forgotten about winning and losing and that it was very important to feel an adrenaline rush.

SRK, seen here with NDTV's Prannoy Roy, said, "We have not yet reached that stage where children say that I want to be a professional sportsperson when I grow up."

SRK and Prannoy Roy discussed the initiative and the importance of tournaments of this sort in the country.

SRK said, "I hope profit is made because if it is then it can be extended to other sports. Sports can only benefit."

Prannoy Roy and SRK also joked about becoming commentators at the tournament.

SRK also touched upon the subject of women in Indian sports and said, "I wish there was a drastic change in women sports in the country. It is sad that there are situations like this. But I really think it is very important for women to come forward and play more."
