A heavy blanket around all sporting venues as well as volunteer hubs has been put into place. Screening of each person entering is mandatory and a list of items not allowed has been advertised in the run up to the Games.
Security has been put into place on land, water and air. Constant surveillance are being carried out to ensure that every suspicious activity is caught and dealt with.
Called 'Operation Olympics', close to 17,000 troops have been deputed to provide security. No chance, it seems, is being taken with either human lives or with the image that London and Britain wants to portray to the world.
