IPL final: The possible game changers from CSK and MI
The two heavyweights of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings, will clash at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, with the victor being crowned champions of IPL 6.
For Chennai's match-winner we need not look further than skipper MS Dhoni. A match-winner with the bat and thinking skills, Dhoni can tilt the game in his sides favour. (BCCI image)
Playing in his debut IPL season, South African all-rounder Chris Morris has been a revelation. He has 14 wickets in 15 matches and has regularly kept fellow countryman Albie Morkel on the bench. (BCCI image)
With dancing skills to match, Dwayne Brave brings West Indian flair to the CSK line-up, with unorthodox strokeplay and deceptive medium-pace. (BCCI image)
The recently retired Australian has not lost any of his old touch. Opening the batting, Hussey is the top scorer this season, with 732 runs in 16 games at an astonishing average of 56.30. (BCCI image)
After starting the season slowly IPLs all-time top run-getter Suresh Raina has found his form at the right time for Chennai, having scored his maiden IPL century. (BCCI image)
During the course of this season, Ravindra Jadeja has emerged as a cult figure, with the moniker 'Sir' attached to his name. A dependable lower-order batsman, Jadeja chips in with left-arm spin as well. (BCCI image)
Rohit Sharma has blossomed ever since being handed Mumbai Indians' captaincy from Ricky Ponting. With 536 runs in 18 games, he is Mumbai's top run-scorer as well. (BCCI image)
Dinesh Karthik may have been off the boil in the last few games. But after finding a place in the Indian squad for the Champions Trophy, Karthik will want to finish IPL 2013 with a bang. (BCCI image)
There were doubts when Dwayne Smith took over the opening position vacated by Ricky Ponting. The West Indian has shone though, with 4 half-centuries this season. (BCCI image)
He may not be the force of old but Harbhajan Singh has livened up IPL 6 with his humour and dance moves. His off-spin can be tricky to handle at the Eden Gardens and is handy with the bat as well.
Chennai will see Kieron Pollard as their most fearsome threat. In the last final these two sides played in 2010, Pollard was sent in to bat too late to change the outcome. Expect him to play a bigger role at the Eden.
With Lasith Malinga looking out-of-sorts this season, Mitchell Johnson spearheads the Mumbai pace attack. With 22 wickets in 16 games, the Aussie is hoping to end this season with a final hurrah.
