As soon as Narendra Modi was re-elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat his party workers took to the streets to celebrate his big win.
Narendra Modi addressed supporters after scoring a hat-trick in state polls. Re-elected to a third term, Mr Modi also tweeted: "I thank all those who voted for us & promise those who have not voted for us that we will work harder to get your vote next time! It's a victory of Gujarat's model of Sarvasparshi (all pervasive), Sarvasamaveshak (inclusive) & Sarvangi (holistic) Vikas! I would like to thank the 6 crore people of Gujarat & the Almighty for giving us an opportunity to serve the people in the years to come."
Narendra Modi feeds sweets to BJP rebel Keshubhai Patel who he replaced as Chief Minister in 2001. Mr Patel, who leads the Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP), defeated his BJP rival Kanubhai Bhalala from the Visavadar constituency in the Saurashtra region.
Keshubhai Patel said Narendra Modi had come to take his blessings and had done so even after winning in the 2007 elections.
